Psychopathology in Hospitalized Alcoholics

Abstract

|
This study utilized the DSM-III-R criteria and the National Institute of Mental Health Diagnostic Interview Schedule to assess the prevalence of psychopathology among hospitalized alcoholics. Passive-aggressive personality was by far the most prevalent additional psychopathology (35 %), followed by depression (15 %), antisocial personality (12.5 %),somatization (10 %), and schizophrenia (5 %).
